Sandra’s trunk!
Our new friend, client, & (come to find out) neighbor, Sandra, had this fabulous trunk hidden in her garage.
She wanted us to work on it but didn’t know exactly what she wanted.
We loved the look of this trunk and didn’t think painting it was the answer.
The trunk was covered in a canvas fabric that was peeling off.
Tyler removed all of the fabric, cleaned up the trunk and used a few products and oils to give the wood a beautiful look while keeping the integrity of the piece.
We love the finished look! It has so much character and charm.
We hope it makes a great addition to Sandra’s home!

chic {party}
Our “baby” turned one last weekend and we celebrated by throwing her a tea party!
We used a few of our refinished furniture pieces and recycled accessories to decorate the house for the big day & wanted to share some photos with you.
Beautiful invitation was made by Lil Mop Top!
Our entry set the tone for the party.
Girly & Fun!
The colors for the party were shades of pink, white and a pop of robins egg blue. This chest we refinished over a year ago was perfect to display our party accessories.
I refinished an old frame to display the “Lilly Rose Tea” burlap sign I made. This is a easy and very inexpensive way to decorate the walls.
We added some tissue paper flowers, simple banner made from a fabric sample, candles & a newborn photo of the birthday girl and we’re done!
Our Dining Room was transformed into an office and showroom for completed furniture earlier this year. This made it easy for us to clear out and use as the Tea Room.
Remember our coffee table we recently refinished? It made a perfect dining table for the little ones.
We also used our pink chalkboard table and painted metal folding chairs that I refinished for the girls.
This china cabinet is still for sale and worked perfectly for the party!
These burlap stenciled pillows live on the bench in the Living Room. I simply turned them around and hand stitched a few tea themed fabric appliques to the pillow backs. After the party they are easy to remove!
Fancy Pants Fotos took Lilly’s one year pictures and we got a few to display at the party!
I made a birthday banner to hang over the sweets table. My lovely Mom made the yummy cupcakes that we displayed on a wood cupcake stand Tyler made a few years ago.
Each seat had a favor bag for the party guests. The girls had jewelry, tiara, lollipop and a “Design your own Tea set” with crayons. The boys had top hats, lollipop, a “Design your own Tea set” with crayons & a mustache on a stick and bowtie I made.
We turn plain paper bags into personalized bags with little ones dressed up in fun “tea attire”.
I used my Cricut to make paper dolls and dressed each guest & then added their names.
Using scrapbooking scissors, we cut the tops of each paper bag to give them a little extra detail.
They also got personalized tea cups to use at the party.
The kiddos all had fun and we were blessed to spend the afternoon with our family & friends.
Hopefully you find some tips you can use at your next celebration!
