new look!

If you follow us on Facebook then you’ve probably already seen some changes to Refreshingly Chic’s image.

Tyler and I designed a logo to better portray our style.

I love it!

We also started working on our Facebook cover page, seen below.

It’s not perfect but I struggle when it comes to graphic design.  We have the visions and concepts in our minds but transferring that onto the screen proves to be a challenge!

We are thrilled to be working with a talented and creative designer  & friend to help transform our website into something fabulous!

Check back soon to see it revealed.

Chalkboard transformation

My mom came across this small chest and thought we could turn it into something special.  It had no character so we decided to think outside the box on this project.

We also found (yes, found!) this table and had it sitting in our garage for quite a while.

The shape of the chest was a bit boring so we decided to cut the legs off the table and elevate the chest. Tyler secured them on for me and then I sanded and primed the chest, including the legs.

I wanted to contrast the drawers and decided chalkboard paint would be fun and functional.  My girls are just now learning to help put clothes away so you could label your drawers with images or wording to help guide them as they clean their room.

We knew this chest would be for a little girls room so thought a pop of color & new hardware would immediately give it some interest.

I ultimately decided on our Bubble Gum Pink when comparing with a few of our other finish samples.

I LOVE how this chest turned out and luckily our client did too!

Chic Party: winnie the pooh

IMGP5967Our little Bella turned {three} today!

We had a Winnie the Pooh birthday party to celebrate the big day.

It was full of

… family …

… friends …

and lots of fun!

Enjoy the photos!

I adore the invitations my sister designed for the party.  You can see her other goodies at Lil Mop Top’s Etsy page or her blog!

Yummy treats included Honeycomb cereal, popcorn, animal crackers, gummy candies and of course cupcakes!

Tyler used a branch from our backyard to make stands for my labels. Love how they turned out! Plus they were free and super easy to make.

We used large tree stumps cut into slices (a great find by my parents at a local antique store!) for the cupcake stands & throughout the party displays.

We also used masons jars filled with balloons on balloon sticks as decoration. I love this idea because it’s much less money than flowers and you can blow up the balloons yourself – which is a big time saver the day of the party!

The “100 Acre Wood” sign was simple and free! We used pallets to make the sign and simply painted on the lettering. Easy and cute!

Bella loves pink lemonade so it was a perfect treat in mason jars. Putting the drink dispenser on another wood lift helped the guests fill their glasses with ease.

I’m a big fan of paper straws! We got ours from The Sugar Diva and they gave such a fun element to the party.

We purchased Winnie the Pooh wall decals and added them throughout the party.  It was a perfect way to tie our drink tub into the theme.

We also used more pallets to make display boards for the party. I added more decals and they were the perfect touch to the tables!

We love reading and thought Winnie the Pooh books would be a great favor for the kiddos. I found 2 sets of books and got each book for under $1. Perfect favors!

We also printed Winnie the Pooh coloring pages and had them ready with the kids with some crayons.

Bella is blessed with so many people who love her!
